I am six days late on my period. I am always regular. I had my tubes tied 10 years ago. Is there something seriously wrong with me? I am 34. I had a tubal legation 8-6-08. I have never had a irregular period I don’t have history of cysts I don’t have history of cancer. All blood work has come back normal as if the beginning of this year. I am sick to my stomach and have the pains of my period coming.

What can I do next?

We have no earthly idea what could be going on with your body.

The best bet for a proper diagnosis is to make an appointment with your Dr.

Don't rely on Internet forums of strangers or Dr Google.

i don't know, and since i am not a dr i can't even guess what your issue might be.
my dr would tell me to call her and make an appt if this happens 3 months in a row.
you could call your dr to see what they want you to do.

Hormones shift at different times in our lives, and hormones dictate all aspects of our cycles (ovulation, menstruation, etc.). A tubal ligation has no effect on hormones. There are plenty of reasons why a period can be late (including an anovulatory cycle - meaning no egg released from the ovary that month). Letting the uterine lining build up for a few extra days (since there's no hormonal change from that ovary's follicle) can result in strong periods including cramps and heavier bleeding. Blood work in January won't tell you a thing about what's happening in May. Which doesn't mean anything is horribly wrong, not at all.

You could be in peri-menopause as well. That' often starts in the 30s and doesn't mean you're having a full-blown early menopause. It just happens to tons of women and we just don't talk about it.

Your best bet is to call your doctor, but don't be surprised if he/she says to wait a week or so and see if you get a period. But do listen to other questions that will give the doctor additional information. You don't always have to have an appointment to talk to your doctor - there is free consultation available from the doctor or the nurse during regular hours. Just call.

Cycles often change as we age. My typical cycle was different at 20, 30, and 40. A change in period timing is not unusual.

Your tubal has no impact on hormones. :-) Nausea can happen as a pms symptom, sometimes it is because of the hormonal balance (or imbalance) and sometimes it's due to having pains. If you're concerned at all about a pregnancy despite your tubal, go ahead and take a home test. It may ease your mind. Stress can impact your cycles and cause delays too. Worrying about cancer would be looking for a zebra instead of a horse at this point.

If things don't clear up and your period doesn't show up in the next week, do call your doctor to see if something is up. A routine blood test that they do for checkups wouldn't cover hormonal aspects.

Welcome to mamapedia.

You've been to the doctor? They have done blood tests and nothing has come back as "abnormal"? Your body is changing. It happens. Every 5 to 10 years, our bodies change, make new cycles, etc.

I'd go back to the doctor and and tell them you are STILL not feeling right. Have them do more tests.

Good luck!

We don't know what's wrong either. Periods change with age. Follow up with your doctor if it continues.

Blood work at the beginning of the year means nothing. You need to go to the doctor.

Periods can become irregular for different reasons. You don't give much info here.

I agree with B about peri-menopause as being the big reason once you're a certain age. Talk to your doctor.

How old are you?
Could it be the start of peri menopause?
Mine started in my later 30's and I finally made it into full menopause at 51.
There are lots of things besides pregnancy that can throw your period off.
Talk this over with your doctor.
Could be serious or it could be trivial.
It could be a thyroid problem or other hormone problem or cancer or any number of things.
We have no idea which it might be.
Your doctor will have some answers for your questions.

Additional:
You had a tubal ligation at age 24?
Ok.
It's a little early for peri menopause but it's not impossible.
Talking with your doctor is your best bet for finding out what's going on.
