So What Happened?

I do LOVE the leapfrog series. I should have mentioned that we had those too. She actually learned the alphabet is a VERY short time because of those. Thanks guys! I am gonna check out those other recommendations too.

PS yes storybook is wicked annoying

There is a great DVD set called Meet the Sight words. You can find these at the library too if you want to try it out before buying it.
There are also follow ups to this like Meet the Letters, Meet the numbers, meet the shapes, etc). Even after my son knew how to read all his sight words, he still loved to watch these!

I like the LeapFrog series (Letter Factory, Talking Words Factory, etc). I buy them at Amazon.com. Also, I like Word World--also available on Amazon.

For 9.95 per month you can get 30,000 videos online through cosmeo.com they start as early as Kindergartin. They are awesome and cover all subjects all the way to the 12th grade.

I'm going to add a third vote for the LeapFrog videos. We have a few of them, and three of my kids have LOVED them. Only one gets really obnoxious (Storybook Factory) but the rest are fine and have helped them along when they were your daughter's age.

Sesame Street has good DVDs. Go to Target or Walmart, preferrably Target. That is where I got a handful. Look for shapes maybe and animals. Also, baby einstein has a good collection. Hope this is helpful.

I am using the leap frog videos and they work great! I would start with "The Letter Factory" to learn the sounds that each letter makes and then their is "The Word Factory" to learn how to put letters together to make words. "Math Circus" or "Math to the Moon" to understand how to add and subtract.
I have my 2 1/2 yr old and my 4 year old watch them every day!

My daughter loves Yo Gabba Gabba. They sing songs about different things, alot about how to act in social situations. The songs are really easy, usually just one or two verses. One of my daughter's favorite songs is called "Don't Bite Your Friends". They also do alot of dancing, which my daughter loves, she will watch two epidsodes 30 mintue episodes and all the dancing will wear her out for her nap.
