I was just wondering if this was a big deal... i took pictures of my dd for her first time getting a bubble bath in the big tub. i guess i just assumed everyone did this- my mom has pictures of us in the tub as kids, but my husband was worried if we got the pictures developed d we could get in trouble for taking naked baby pics. ( i developed them and obviously nothing happened) Just curious if other people do this too.
Thanks to everyone- im glad most people also think this is not a big deal.. and i agree with everyone- i would never put naked pictures of my dd on the internet - although my mother has a huge one hanging on her wall in a frame (u can see the bare tushie in that one) lol!

There are family baby pics and there are "creepy" baby pics. I don't think you can mistake the two. It's normal. It's nice that he's concerned, tho. I wasn't fast enough to catch it, but my son put on his camoflage rain gollashes and nothing else - that was a kick!

I do but we don't have anything developed. Sad world we live in because he's deep into the naked/dress-up phase of his life. Who wouldn't want to see their son wearing sunglasses and a smile and NOTHING else?

I do! They are some of my favorites. I don't have a problem with seeing baby chest or baby butt... but I do try to cover the front parts... Just in case someone questionable happens to see the pics.

I have gazillons of naked baby pics. Honestly, if people are weirded out by totally innocent pictures of kids in their "birthday suits" that says way more about them than it does about me. I refuse to succumb to the fear that maybe someone somewhere will look at my children in an inappropriate way, or accuse me of doing so. Children are cute when they're naked.

I do professional photography, and yes I take naked baby pics all the time. I try to make sure that the lower portion (in front) of the child is covered with props, etc. , but all parents love pictures of their babies chunky bodies at this stage of life. Pregnant Moms with older kids, and pregnant Moms who are without clothes. Also new moms topless with their newborns who are naked. All very tastefull and gorgeous photos. Truly art. Also, I take natural outside portraits of kids in the "buff" that are all very tasteful, and also make sure the areas that need to be covered are covered are.... but the answer is a big yes.

Of course I took nudie baby pics! I want to remember those dimples and rolls of baby chunk FOREVER. I don't post them to Facebook, but I do email them to out of state relatives. I have video's of my daughter in the tub together singing 'it's a wonderful world' and covered in suds... cutest stuff ever. I have video of my son running butt naked through the house, because his butt jiggles and his cellulite tops mine! Once kids are a bit more into their toddler years, I think modesty comes more into play... trust your gut, you'll know when the nudie pics need to stop ;)

Not only do I take the pics myself for their baby books (nothing is cuter than a little baby in a bubbly bath with a rubber ducky on her head)...but I've had a professional picture of my naked newborn as well. My firstborn was only a few weeks old when we took her for her 1st photo shoot at sears portraits. They took the cutest picture of her, she is lying on her tummy with her eyes looking right into the camera, and she is wearing nothing but a pink ribbon with a little tag that says "It's a Girl". Her cute little tushy is there in all it's glory. The picture is black and white with pink highlights on her cheeks, her blue eyes, and the pink ribbon. We loved it so much we ordered the 11x20 and had it framed. It now hangs over our fireplace in the family room. I see nothing wrong with cute naked baby pics :)

I have naked bathtub pictures of all my kiddos. The older they got the more I tried to cover them. If it was a bubble bath I would cover their private parts with bubbles. They now love their bathtub pictures. I'm sure they won't in a few years. :) But O well when they are a mommy and daddy they will understand.
I would just watch posted them on-line and keep them for yourself to look at in their baby book.

We did. It wasn't a big deal back then...especially if there's bubbles covering "the parts". Some of the best pics I have of my girls are ones when they're about 6 months old, completely naked, lying on their bellies, pushing themselves up...I think it really depends on the nature of the pic and the tech you have developing them. If it's obvious it's a parental thing, I don't think anyone's going to say anything. However, if it's in an obvious sexual nature/posing in said manner, that's when authorities get called in.

I take obnoxious amounts of photos of my 2 kids.
My family is all spread over the country to I take as many as I can and show them. My mom says it helps her feel as if she is here with them.
So ya nakey pics also.
I do not share those, or post them to FB though. Ok I will show my mom and maybe sisters. But that will only be for the itty bitty baby photos.
I have a dig. camera so I don't have to have my developed.
And you will not get in trouble for developing naked pictures of your kids.
Only way that could happen is if they were some way seen as Crude photos.
So bath time is an ok time :)

I most certainly do. :) And have TONS of me and my sisters (since my mom thought it was cute when the three of us were lined up in the bathtub together). I was just telling a friend yesterday that I think it is hilarious when my kids run around in front of us naked before bathtime because they are TOTALLY INNOCENT! :) My boys will dance, do jumping jacks, and run circles because they are so excited about their baths and it feels awesome to them to be naked. I do take pictures of my oldest naked (he's 4) but do still take bath pictures from the belly up.

I wonder the same thing. My mom has pictures of us naked and even in the potty, I didn't felt as comfortable to do the same, at least no to that degree, I take pictures of them naked but no showing their privets. I do agree that babies are super cute and I am in love with my toddler's butt and I have a pic of her butt so I can always remember her cute shape like 3 butt.
Maybe get a digital camera so only you and family can see them?

No. My parents, grandparents, aunts and cousins just dont do that. I think we are conservative about those type of things.
My MIL although had a different view and had a large number of naked photos of my husband and brother in law when they were babies. My husband thought it was no big deal.
Its whatever you deem as normal.

Yes. We do the modified version though--like the shoulders up part or cover the privates with a wash cloth in the bath. People are funny about pictures these days---- what was always considered to be innocent, is now viewed as innapropriate in some eyes. Be careful where you develop the pics.

lets say that with all the hype now, I am more discreet an careful about what is in view, but I have an adorable picture of my now 12 year old, fresh from a bath, on his towel, naked as the day he was born at about 6 months old. Nothing perverse about it but it's one of my faves. Now my friend has a picture of her IDK 6 or 7 year old daughter carving pumpkins in their kitchen without a top on and that I think is really weird. Just to be safe I've taken to covering our 4 month old up or taking shots from the waist up, but I can't imagine anyone ever complaining about naked baby pics, as long as they are babies and nothing weird is going on.

One of my all time fave pics of my oldest was him making a mad dash through the living room buck naked. Well as mad a dash as an 18 month old can make. He had picked up a pillow and was waving it around while running. I took the pic(before digital cameras) and had no idea what pic I had. I had it developed to see the pillow covered the front just fine but there was his little bubble butt for all the world to see.
We have many other pics of both boys buck naked.

I have (of her in the bath) but all with digital so I just uploaded them on the computer. I did hear of a couple that took pics of their kids taking a bath together, when they went and got them developed the lady developing turned them in and they lost both of the kids. It was a while back but after two months they were still fighting to get them back. It's so crazy especially when you see these stories of kids being abused over and over and they still go back to the parents. I guess that story stuck in my mind, so I keep all of those pics to myself.

I do of all 3 kiddos especially when they were first born we snapped away, their first few baths, when they fill the tub with bubbles,& some that are just because they were naked & doing something they shouldn't of been into or doing something cute like putting on daddy's shoes they just happened to be naked..I was concerned everytime to get them, develpoed that they wouldn't allow me to have my pics back becasue of the lil tushy scene, lil babies wrinkely butts who can resist taking a pic of that.Kids grow we as parents want to capture our memeories of them..I certainly will not put my pics over the internet, send them via e-mail or on FB naked.I will put them in my photo albums only or scrapbook them. But now as they are getting older I take fewer pics of them naked I don't have any of my son since he was about a year or so he doesn't like to show himself & I respect his privacy.

You need to be careful if you want to post them on Facebook or MySpace, I had some deleted once - and they were very innocent, no private area or butt showing. Also it depends on the picture. Full frontal nudity that looked in any way pornographic could definitely get you into trouble. Taking pictures of your kids in the tub in a normal life setting should not a problem.
Best wishes!

I can't believe this anymore. I'm with you: I took pix of my kids in the tub, my parents took pix of me AND me and my sisters in the tub. They are your photos. They're private property. I can understand your husband's concern, what in this day and age anything we do is bad anymore! And there are the nut cases that take advantage of these. But just make sure you don't post them to the internet, share them only with trusted people, and there should be no problem. This is a time when you should enjoy the innocence of your babies. We shouldn't have to worry about hugging them or photographing them. Please don't let it worry you.
And just FYI, my oldest was photographed just after birth, spread eagle on his back. My husband had taken the photo.

Yes, we have naked baby pictures, but we are all digital in the house and generally print our own. This does not mean I would not get them developed elsewhere. I think as long as the pictures are not "provocative" that they would not raise any alarms - a baby splashing in a bubble bath seems fine to me.

Yes. I crop some of them so you can't see their 'bits' if they aren't somewhat covered by bubbles or a toy. Just because I don't trust other people. I've printed my own pics of bath pictures though. : )
What we think is sweet and innocent, a nasty perv would construe it into something unimaginable for us moms n dads.

There are so many others' just like you. Taking and developing pictures' of your own children when they are small does not mean that your pornographic. My daughter and son have given me so many pics' of my beautiful grandchildren just lying on the bed, in the tub, I myself think its cute. Sometimes they are the best pictures because they are so happy in the tub and rolling around when your drying them. Yes their are some sicko's out there but you are definetly not one of them. Tell your husband to rest at ease, nothing will come of your own family pics'. Be worry free!!
