We want to put our 3 year old daughter in a dance class and I don't know where to take her. We have seen a few flyers but the places look like they would be very strict. We want her to have fun with this at this point. Any suggestions?

My 3 year old is going to Center Stage on 183 between Osage and Crystal Falls. She's actually in a tumble cheer class, but they don't seem nearly as strict as some of the other places around. We were taking a ballet/tap class at Pulse on Bagdad, and they were a lot more particular about what the kids wore and lots of rules and stuff. I think Center Stage is a lot more laid back, and the instructors are so nice and welcoming. It's all about having fun. Good luck! There are so many to choose from. It's hard to pick the right place!

My daughter took a ballet/tap combo class and had a great time. They have a lot of fun while learning a few basics. They used props and the teachers knew that having fun was the main point. Good luck!

I have been taking my daughters to Center Stage in Leander (across from Block House on 183) for the last 3 years. We love it there. They aren't strict on the little ones at all. They incorporate games into the dance lesson, so it is very fun and laid-back. Happy dance class hunting!

I started my 3 yr. old at Dance eMotions in Cedar Park. She is now 4 1/2 and still loves the dance classes. They are located in Buttercup Creek (maybe Buttercup Commons). What impressed me most is that I took her to "just watch" a class and they let her join in even though they were practicing for a recital. She had a blast even though she didn't know all the moves and I was hoooked on how good they were with the children. Good luck. C.

There is a dance class on 183 in Leander. I can't remember the name of it, but our sitter takes her daughter there and she loves it. It is just north of Osage on 183. Good luck!

My 13 year old has danced since age 3 and loved every minute. Willow tree dance opened this year in Cedar Park. The teacher is from a studio that my daughter is currently dancing. I understand this has been a dream of hers to open this place and I know she is very sweet. Down the road a bit is Shirley McPhail (183 and McNeil). Ms. Trish and Ms. Theresa are incredible with the little ones. Farther South a couple of exits is Dancers Workshop and the little ones seem very happy there, but I don't have 1st hand knowledge about their young program. I have a friend whose daughter is at Cedar Park Dance and loves it. Call the studios and ask if you can observe a class. This is recital preparation time so some studios don't admit new students until the summer, but other do. I hope you find a place you love

My daughters started when they were two. They loved it. The studio is Dance Emotions with Sarah Adair. She is wonderful with the little ones and makes it really fun.

I am putting my 3 year old in Austin Ballet summer camp to determine his interest. Very inexpensive, $125 for 6-8 1.5 hr sessions. Then we will re-evaluate his interest. I am also taking him to witness a class during the spring so he knows what dance class means.

My daughter attends MA Dance project in Cedar Park at the Railyard and she loves it. She is in the beginners class which is tap and ballet. She is really enjoying it and it is not strict at all. If she wants to do the recital it is optional. We opted t do it because she wanted to. You can join the classes at anytime during the year.

Both my son and daughter attend Center Stage. It is located on 183, between Osage and Crystal Falls. My 3 year old son loves his super hero class. My 5 year daughter loves her ballet/tap/jazz. They also have cheerleading available. It is also priced right. Looks like Sunne D (your first advice) was talking about Center Stage too! :)

DO NOT GO TO CENTER STAGE :0 - HORRIBLE PLACE , It is filthy , nasty full of germs , kids running around everywhere & not diciplined. The owner is never there , all the employees are always late . Very small place & old , falling apart . All the teachers quit & do not stay working there. And the owner is GREEDY & just wants your $ , and LIES all the time !

There is a class starting at Leander Center Stage off 183. The people seem really nice. It is a new class, and we are going by for a visit today. The class just started at the beginning of February.

My daughter goes to Dance eMotions in Cedar Park and we love it! She's five but this is her first year in dance and she feels really comfortable there. All of the teachers are so sweet and make it a fun experience for the kids. I highly recommend it!
