hi ladies! this isn't really a "motherly" request, but it's something i need help with. my best friend's 30th birthday is in june and i'm trying to come up with some ideas on what to do. for my 30th last year...she planned a surprise party with dinner and hotel room with girl-friends for me...i was thinking something along the same lines, but it wouldn't be a surprise really cuz she will be thinking it's a surprise since she did that to me..make sense?!? anyways...any ideas for a girls only 30th birthday party? it would be greatly appreciated!! thanks mamas!!!!
What about something she'd never expect.... putt-putt golf and cocktails?? or maybe Worlds of Fun? both things would be a blast and unexpected... I've gone putt-putting with friends and we all had more fun than we ever expected...
Hi K.! When I turned 40 my friends got together and everyday something showed up at my door. Each friend or family member brought or sent something. Things ranged from dinner to chocolate to gift cards etc. My birthday was the end of June and they started at the beginning of June. This is something that can be as long or as short as you want. It was a lot of fun receiving a "surprise" everyday. I hope you have fun with what ever you decide.
road trip, baby! Have goody bags stashed, have an itinerary planned, & just get away for a weekend of fun!
During deer season, my Mom & her BF were at Lake of the Ozarks. About 10pm, a whole crew of Moms pulled into the hotel...they even had a rental trailer full of coolers & suitcases. Mom said that they were a blast to watch all weekend!
Now that all of our kids are older, my sis & I have several trips planned with Mom & our friends. Can't wait to hit the road!
K., funny that you ask for ideas to celebrate the big 30. My bff turns 30 in June while I and another friend turn 30 this fall. We are planning a girls weekend @ my house (sending kids and hubby to inlaws for weekend) basically an adult weekend slumber party. We are going to scrapbook, catch up, cook and pamper ourselves. By doing it @ my house, we have more space and we eliminate the cost of a hotel room and we love to cook (when we're not dealing with kids tastes).
You could do something similar. Maybe bring out old photos and yearbooks from high school and college. If you live in KC you could plan a trip to the Plaza or Legends Shopping Center and Powell Gardens is always a relaxing trip.
Maybe you could do a day of spa things, everybody go get a manicure/pedicure, facial, massage etc.... then go have brunch, have a few mimosas or other cocktails and kick back.
It's nice that you still have friends that want to celebrate special birthdays in a unique way! Mine usually involve my 8,6 & 4 year old. Not that, that isn't special too but it's nice to get away with friends and do a girls day or night out.-----Best of Luck----- Hope you guys have a great time whatever you do. Just be safe!----J.

Rent a limo have it pick her up and you guys be in it and drive around town and go to dinner you can say it's just you and her and then surprise her with all of you guys in the limo. Have fun!!
Take her out to birthday dinner? or something familiar to the two of you. Have everyone else meet (again, somewhere familiar to the two of you) that way she is none the wiser when you two go there. And Surprise....
OR act like teenage girls again. Arrange a pajama, stay over party at your house. No kids allowed :) Have movies, popcorn, whatever....
What about a paint-your-own pottery party.
If you are in St. Louis, I highly recommend Baked Goods Pottery. You could get a group of friends together, everyone brings food and drinks to share and have a great time!!
If you want something different and unique what about a private pole dancing party.We offer them at Flex (my business) and we get all different age levels.From 20 - 70 it is a blast. Well I do spa party's and I have done a suprize birthday spa before. Everyone that comes gets to be pampered head to toe!
For my friends 30th back in november we got a limo and went out on the town - it was so much fun because we got to have drinks and visit in the limo most of the time and then we went downtown and took fun pictures by the arch. You then have a sober driver all night and went where ever you wanted to go! We all met at a friends house before hand and then the limo came (wich was a Escalade Limo) recommend a larger limo so you have room to move and for coolers... we had 10 girls wich was a perfect amount. It was sooo much fun and we are planning to do this for my & my friends birthday this summer (we were both pregnant for our 30th)
