Advice About Day Care and Nanny for an Infant

I would definitely go with a child care center for an Infant. Childcare centers are monitored regularly, you get written daily reports and you will always know what is going on. With in home childcare or with a nanny you may never know the full story nor will you have anyone to turn to if something does happen to your child. I would suggest Primrose School of North Plano or Forest Creek. Both of these schools are owned by the same great family and are just wonderful all around. My 10 month old attends Forest Creek and I have never been happier! He even has learned Infant Sign Language! You should stop in soon because I am not sure how many spaces they have available! I struggled for a long time trying to decide about day care for my daughter who is now 7 months old. We had always talked about my staying home to take care of the baby, but financially we could not do it. Currently, I have my little girl in the Bright Horizons center in Plano, but we are switching her over to Kids R Kids in Mckinney (closer so both of us can get her if needed and about $30 a week less expensive). Kids R Kids has a few in the area and I know quite a few people who use them in Frisco and McKinney.

We have 2 children (3 & 1), and have placed both in In-Home care until they turn 2. We used Nancy Gist in Plano for the oldest and are using Hang Ngo in Allen for the youngest. We were very satisfied with both!!! The oldest is now in Primrose of West Allen, which also care for infants, but is a bit more expensive. This a very tough decission for us moms to make, doing your homework early is a very smart. I feel a group child care environment is best because you have a lot of people around and alot of different organizations inspecting the child care centers, They also have many regulations and standards to follow and I feel this is not the case with Nanny's or in - home places. I personnaly feel that when I was making a decissions for care for my children I was looking not only for infant care but for the entire pre-school time frame prior to Kindergarten. Being a working mom I wanted to find a place that I felt would meet our needs long term. Consistency with children is important. Day Cares may be okay for infants/ toddlers but 3 and 4 year olds need more of a pre-school environment. I spent a great deal of time visiting and reseaching and finally decided and placed my children in Primrose School of Forest Creek. My children are in school now but I was very happy with Primrose I believe my kids are sucessful in school now because of the positive preschool experience they received at Primrose. Primrose has a great curriculum and they provided parents with assessments several times a year so we knew how our child was doing.
